Whether you’re after an afternoon pick-me-up or some pre or post-workout fuel, everyone loves to chow down on a quick, healthy, energy ball. That’s why we collected 9 of our favourite energy ball recipes, including options for gluten-free, grain-free, paleo, vegan, raw, high protein or high fibre diets. They’re all made with easy to find ingredients and with require hardly any effort at all to go from hungry to energised!

Your Energy Balls Must-Have Shopping List

  • Nuts and seeds – Choose from almonds, cashews, walnuts, pecans as well as pumpkin, sunflower, sesame, hemp or any of your favourite nut or seed varieties for lots of crunch and texture.
  • Nut butters – Peanut, almond, sunflower seed or cashew nut butter can give your energy balls a smoother and creamier mouth feel.
  • Dried fruit – Add your favourite dried fruit for a burst of concentrated nutrition and a healthy afternoon sweet-tooth fix.
  • Protein powder, almond meal, coconut flour or rolled cereals – By rolling any of your bliss balls you’ll be getting a fabulous nutritional boost of protein or fibre.
  • Flavourings and spices –  Use cocoa or cacao powder, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon or nutmeg for a flavourful hit (without adding added sugar)
  • Coconut – Shredded or flaked coconut can add texture and flavour to your homemade bliss balls. If your bliss balls are a little sticky then desiccated coconut is the perfect ingredient to roll them in.
